Hamburg Champ

Set the alarm for 10:15 am cos I knew I was going to punch the buttons for 5 more minutes of sleep. Finally staggered out of bed at 11:30, the Federer-Gasquet match was into its second set. Snoozed on the sofa, listening to commentary from Jason and an old fogey. This old fogey has been around for ages it seems, he refers back to tournaments back in the 60s and it sounds like he was actually there to comment on them back then. Jason sometimes refers to him as JD, or something that sounds like that. He recycles his comments too because so far, I must have heard about Coria and his lovely wife (as JD likes to call her) maybe 10 times. At least. Or how Nadal has filled out ever since he first spotted his talent when he was 15. Sometimes I think he must be suffering from a little dementia (if that's possible), or if he's just catering to first-time viewers of tennis all the time. Nevermind him for now.

So the match turned out to be rather uninspiring. I never ended up biting my fingers or cursing Gasquet. Federer didn't play too well, and Gasquet wasn't half-bad. It didn't feel like the match was really won, unlike the Italia Masters. Great for Roger Federer anyway, 3 time champ of the Hamburg title.
